For us at WhisperTyping, privacy is a top priority. We take it very seriously: we never log any content of your speech nor the transcription output. We believe that respecting your privacy is the moral thing to do, and it lets us focus on delivering a high-quality voice‑dictation experience without exposing you to unnecessary risks. We aim for full compliance with the strictest privacy laws worldwide, including the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
---|---|---|
Voice buffers (RAM‑only) | Convert speech to text in real time | Art 6 (1)(b) – contract |
Pseudonymised usage logs (request counts, timing, coarse locale, crash traces) | Keep the service reliable, scale capacity, spot abuse | Art 6 (1)(f) – legitimate interests |
We never store audio or transcripts. Audio is held only in memory until the transcription completes and is then erased. Logs contain no spoken content and no direct identifiers.
Your app routes audio to the nearest available transcription server (Azure, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Groq, or DeepInfra) based on latency and uptime. These providers do not persist your content beyond transient processing.
You can access, erase, object to, or restrict our use of usage logs at any time.
